From hot air balloons to gliders and rockets, every day will be a build challenge as you create a working model aircraft to take home. See how the inventors studied sciences that made their machines work, and how your model follows the same rules of flight. Just like the toys that inspired the Wright brothers!

LS Pilot Maker
Details

The T-6 Texan was called the “Pilot Maker” because it was the last training plane young pilots flew before taking on the WWII Warbird fighters and bombers. Follow flight school basic training as you learn the science that a pilot needs to know, how physics is used to control the aircraft, and the mechanics inside the planes. Practice flying skills on the flight trainers and warbird simulators, just like the pilots of World War II, then move on to modern fighter jets. Finally, test your ace skills in simulated dogfights against your camp mates. Fieldtrip! We’re going to Ellington Field to meet the pilots of the Air National Guard 147th Fighter wing or the Coast Guard and see their aircraft up close.
